How this tool works
Five conversions run on the text you paste, entirely in the browser: uppercase, lowercase, Title Case, camelCase and snake_case. Nothing is uploaded, so a client list or an unpublished draft is safe to work on here.
Title Case capitalises the first letter of every whitespace-separated run and lowercases the rest, which is the mechanical rule rather than the editorial one — a house style that keeps short prepositions lowercase will need a manual pass afterwards. camelCase strips every non-alphanumeric character and raises the letter that follows it. snake_case lowercases, turns runs of whitespace into single underscores, and discards anything that is not a letter, digit or underscore. That last step is destructive by design: accented characters and punctuation are removed rather than transliterated.
Choosing the right case
- Title Case is mechanical here: every word gets a capital, including "of", "the" and "and". Editorial title case keeps those lowercase, so check the result against your style guide.
- camelCase and snake_case are for identifiers: variable names, database columns, JSON keys. They are not meant for prose and will mangle sentences that contain punctuation.
- snake_case drops characters it cannot use: an accented letter or an ampersand disappears rather than being converted, which can silently shorten a name.
- Uppercase is not a styling choice: if you only want the look, CSS text-transform leaves the underlying text intact and readable to screen readers. Converting the characters themselves is permanent.
